Raya is the "exclusive" dating app for pseudo-celebrities. Not real celebs mind you, instagram celebs. There are some noteworthy profiles but i suspect those are pr stunts.
Anyway, the idea was great - tinder and okc are riddled with insecure people that accuse the better looking of being "fake" - or if someone hot proves it is indeed them trying to have some fun, the non-hot match freaks out in a tirade of insecurity. Even celebs got flaked on on tinder.
But Raya is a total SCAM. It is supposed to make you feel "elite" that you can now date "in your own" league but what it is mainly used for is networking. You see, social media managers, instagram models, swimsuit models, c-list actresses are all bangable anyway. Just move to los angeles and hit on them in a coffee shop. With Raya, they know you are "elite" too - they will check your stats, and then hit you up for work. How annoying. Why would anyone who is anyone want to deal with that??
Fuck that. Better to bang a lonely uggo from ok cupid that is actually looking for company than some career hungry weirdo trying to be famous. Raya is a community of people pretending they are important, if you are indeed a celeb it might be a good place to find a fake "pr spouse" - these fame diggers would be happy to do it. But let's face it, even your pet dog can be a famous "influencer" on instagram of you put a hat on him. Seriously try it, you'll land him sponsorships in a week.
