How to improve your Rhetoric

The history of rhetoric & # 8211; the art of verbal persuasion & # 8211;
dates back about 2500 years and its very foundations are usually taught in
high school in the Western Hemisphere. It is also a topic in many
universities worldwide.
The classical Greek philosophers Empodocles, Protagoras, Gorgias,
Isocrates, Plato and Aristotle were all made valuable contributions to this
field. Plato criticized the appearance of unethical dialogue in the
persuasive Gorgias and other ideas in Phaedra. Aristotle was the more
systematic object in his Rhetoric of work. In the Roman Empire Cicero and
Quintilian are some of the best known figures in this regard.
Rhetoric suffered various setbacks throughout history, but regained its
strength and relevance in the 20th and 21 centuries. Although the dark side
of the rhetoric associated with collectivism mass psychology under the
guidance of modern totalitarianism, it is accepted as something important
and probably inevitable in today's world and democratic societies. The left
and the right to use it, although sometimes so completely different.
How about individual male as he enters the world stage, this is a very
small example, and even online to a significant degree? With the triad of
basic rhetorical ethos, logos and pathos as a starting point, I will give
suggestions on how to improve one's ability to persuade and to be
considered a most valuable and respectable person.
genius
Ethos is linked to a person's character, and include a plethora of
different factors such as social status, appearance, experience of life,
moral conduct and behavior. The downside of this aspect is that most men
will not be heard, even if they may have multiple strengths, for the simple
reason that only a few men can become billionaires, celebrities,
politicians or lobbyists. Whether you're smarter than PewDiePie since it
has 56 million subscribers while you have 56 (or at least 56 fixed
hopefully).
However, this does not justify crying because more average man can improve
his life much his particular level and to some extent strive to reach
higher ground. Specifically, it can mean to improve its revenue, body
composition, style of dress, social network, social and ethical capital.
Having a beautiful woman at his side will also be an advantage and make him
look good. Nobody listens losers and why should they?
As for the actual speech, or actio as it is called in rhetoric, trust,
voice, posture and body language while the matter.
Also, do not be a complete macho guy, but do not act as a weak male either.
Find the optimal balance, vary the way you speak, and change somewhat
depending on the audience and context. The practice and actual experience
are essential ingredients. Investigate other men, avoid obvious mistakes,
but find your own unique way of doing it.

Logos
Logos is the intellectual and logical dimension of rhetoric capacity and
affects the way you are able to influence people. I know that many think it
is just a waste of time to go to college, but that concept must be
approached with some caution. Having a master's or doctorate, although it
often has little importance from the simple perspective on income, implies
a certain level of intellectual sophistication and / or creating incentives
to get more knowledge.
Regardless, you should be able to better discern the knowledge and
information to improve your logos. No one has complete knowledge and
sometimes it is wise to just accept that you do not know this or that, but
for example the politics, economics, cultural studies and genetics are not
rock science. Use unimpeachable sources, insofar as they exist, and to
avoid low-value and erroneous studies. Think three times before accepting
mainstream science as truths.
Regarding relevance, facts and logic are not always & # 8211; far from it &
# 8211; win, but that does not mean you should overlook. People will
respect a knowledgeable man, and note that you are well informed. In this
way, a man logos positively affect his philosophy in a benevolent feedback
loop.

Pathetic
Finally, the pathos is related to feelings. A masculine man rejects almost
instinctively, even contempt, emotions.
Yet the wise man knows that emotions affect people in various
circumstances, and often overlap sense of morality as being horrified by
war, rape, murder and other consequences of the darker shades of the psyche
human. Therefore, an appeal to emotions can be significant and will not be
in conflict even more remote and rational image.
I'm not a super big fan Trump but I'll have to admit I love his convincing
way of stating the obvious common sense ideas of good and evil. Instead of
trying to appear as a virtuous man, he says that what is right or wrong,
then moves.

In addition, to be upset is only one type of emotion. Two historical
functions of classical rhetoric were to entertain and please the public.
Wittiness, discussed in Aristotle's The Nicomachean Ethics is considered at
least a lesser virtue. Therefore, a sense of humor is a powerful weapon and
a final part of the arsenal.
However, a delicate balance is needed, and humor is not to be the backbone
of a man's persuasive (if he is not an actor, of course). On the other
hand, he could not possibly be without either.

Conclusion
As illustrated, the three main elements of rhetoric not exclusive but
complementary. logos and pathos strong influence ethical man s in a
positive feedback loop and could be a key to increase gradually to higher
grounds, be it only in the frames of a man's private life and at work, or
socially important occupation as a political or public debater.
Considered in this broader sense, improving the rhetoric becomes almost the
same as the general self-improvement, that transcends the traditional
conduct of the art of speech.
