Gay Marriage Vote Australia can lead to spectacular failure of the left

Australia is currently voting in a postal survey on the legalization of gay
marriage. A clear majority of Australians support gay marriage, but I
predict that the next "No" will win the vote. When this happens, the
radical left will have no one to blame themselves. There is a strong sense
of a type or Trump Brexit upset in the air, but the main reason for
the "No" campaign will win because the campaign "yes" alienated the
sensible center.
Australia is one of the few countries that has compulsory voting in
elections, but this postal survey is not mandatory and I would be surprised
if the turnout is more than 50%. Opinion polls in recent years have
consistently shown that almost two thirds of Australians support gay
marriage, but the low rate of participation makes the expected result of
the difficult postal survey to predict. Just as the "silent" Trump voters
skewed the exit polls during the US presidential election in 2016, there
are probably about 5% of Australians who tell pollsters they support gay
marriage but who actually vote not.
The "yes" and "no" campaigns

The "Yes" campaign is led by about half of the center-right Liberal power /
national government, including Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, over the
opposition center-left Labor Party of Australia and the Green Party
of 'leftmost. Almost all prominent Australians support the campaign "Yes."
The campaign "No" is directed by religious organizations and some
conservative politicians. The fact that most Australian Muslims will
probably not vote is an ironic twist to the leftists who have made that
difficult campaign to let them enter the country. The overwhelming support
for the "yes" among prominent Australians from politics to sports to
entertainment media reminds opposed to Trump in the US and UK Brexit.
The "Yes" side is not really much of an argument, they just keep
saying "love is love." Presumably they do not think that incest, pedophilia
and polygamy is ok because "love is love" but they are not developed.

The next "No" does not make much of an argument about gay marriage either.
Instead, he claims that gay marriage is another step towards political
correctness and denial of freedom of expression and religious freedom.
former Australian Conservative Minister Tony Abbott urges a "no" to "stop
political correctness in its tracks."
tactics against the left-productive

The left made two key strategic mistakes in his campaign. First, he argues
that he should not be a public debate or public vote on the issue. Second,
it is intimidation, persecution and harassment anyone brave enough to
declare that they will vote "no."
The left has long argued against a public vote on gay marriage by saying
that it will harm the mental health of homosexuals and heterosexuals should
not have the right to decide if gays have "human rights" . The left does
not seem to understand that people do not like what they are and are not
allowed to discuss, debate, say or think.

Some individuals and more radical leftist groups have also been harassed,
intimidated and persecuted who oppose gay marriage. On 22 September, Yes
head butted activist Tony Abbott. A former boxing champion, Abbott assured
the media that he was completely free & # 8221; but said he is concerned
about the new world of same-sex marriage if that is how some of the people
who are most enthusiastically support it & # 8221 act;.
In Canberra, a woman aged 18, named Madeline was fired from her job at a
children's party company to advocate a "no" vote on his private Facebook
wall. Capital Children Parties owner Madlin Sims said she pulled Madeline
because "advertising your desire to vote no for SSM [same-sex marriage] is,
in my eyes, hate speech".
In Brisbane, the National Union of Students organized a rally outside a
church to harass participants to "vote no" meeting. The rally turned
violent and a woman was arrested.
When "not" hired Skywriting Australia activists to write "vote no" in the
sky over Sydney company was abused on social media and the business owner
received a text message harassment torrent there including the following:
& # 8230; you really are a shit man. You are certainly the biggest piece of
shit in Australia today. Probably tomorrow too. Hope you are proud of
yourself. Do not be surprised by the hatred coming for you. Titt for TATT
he is right, right? You stupid, ignorant, ruthless, pathetic old LOSER.
The skywriting organizers later reported that GoFundMe "decided to freeze
our money until we give our names and locations. This is on the back of a
huge amount of hate mail we received from people who want to silence our
message and attack us personally ".

Of course, there are people on the No side who behaved inappropriately too.
The difference is that in the Yes camp, the argument that there should be
no debate, or that those who opposed gay marriage should not be allowed to
give their opinion in general.
Unlike the United States, Australia does not have the freedom of expression
protected by the Constitution. The Australian Parliament has passed laws
imposing fines of up to $ 12 600 to anyone who "vilifying"
or "intimidating" another person during the debate on gay marriage. I think
these laws are applied selectively against the "no" Activists for & # 8221
homophobic; comments.
Lessons for the right
We must not underestimate the radical left, but do not overestimate them
either. Whether themselves and they alienate ten people for each they
convert. We right must not fall into the gutter to fight with these radical
leftists or we will emerge at least as dirty as them. Maintain morality and
promote a civilized debate, freedom of expression and non-violence.
